Mary Grace Delos Santos
Finishing a marathon race is like finishing a long journey, that’s the way from the student of Zamboanga City used to do it. It’s like a journey that has many obstacles along the way. Mary Grace Delos Santos a Commerce Student of Universidad de Zamboanga makes a big impression every time she joins a race, she’s one of the best female athletes. When she run in the 2008 edition of Milo marathon in Cagayan city, a motorcycle hammered her that caused her bleeding, she stops for awhile and continued to run despite the injury from the incident, she overcome it and eventually won the race.
In Cebu city, the Cebuanos considers her as the “Queen of the road”, after dominating all the races that she joins, feared is by many athletes in her event.
She’s the pride of the city of Zamboanga, and I am so proud of her accomplishments, I have known her very much, since we’ve been team members in PRISAA in Athletic sports. She’s a good friend, a good student to our sports coach. Her accomplishment gives me eagerness to write in the sports blogs praising her different success, and to inform the world that a Zamboangueña can compete against the best in the region.
